Here I would like to highlight the lesser-known smaller groups and schools that have shown extra-ordinary innovation in filling the gap left by government education.
Excellent. I am a little involved in this area, did they build their own LMS or did they use an open source LMS like Moodle? That's what most people (including Unisa) do. If you ever cover KZN, look into Angels Academy in Newcastle (preschool to grade 7), they're not as cheap as Apex but they produce great results. I am thinking of the online approach because of costs, the only reason I haven't done so is because Angels has been so great. The main thing they've done is boost our children's confidence, language was a big part of that, in an English-only environment, a non-English first language speaker can feel intimidated, I have seen this first hand. Angels is an English medium school, but the teachers are all Zulu speakers too.
