If there is the slightest chance of destroying or weakening the unreliable and underhanded ANC’s hegemonic grip on the country, we must not hesitate to do so merely for pragmatic reasons.
Judy, I hear you, but the millions and millions of people in poverty in South Africa point to cruelty too, since the cadres are keeping billions away from them by means of corrupt practices (theft) and policies benefiting only a small group of insiders in the party. Dishing out welfare (social grants) in huge numbers is also not caring. It is degrading and dehumanising millions of people who would prefer a job under proper economic policies, since having a job is a great boost for a healthy self-image and -respect. Being beggers at the behest/mercy of the rich cadres in government/politics is a terrible special form of being the recipients of cruelty by your masters...
